    Annual Innovation Expo at LPU Unveiled 500+ Breakthrough Projects by 2,500+ Students

    * AI-enabled Projects Took Center Stage at LPU’s Innovation Expo 2025 This spirit culminated in a spectacular convergence of technology, design, and creativity during the 8th edition of annual Innovation & Graduating Project Expo INNOTEK 2025. The two day event organized by the Department of Student Research & Projects featured over 500+ pioneering projects by 2500+ students across 29+ schools of LPU, held at the Baldev Raj Mittal Unipolis Auditorium. From robotics and AI-powered systems to sustainable rural innovations and wearable tech, INNOTEK 2025 reflected the university’s interdisciplinary spirit and problem-solving ethos. The event was thoughtfully curated around key domains such as Engineering & Technology, Agriculture, Health & Allied Sciences, Management, Social Sciences, and Applied Arts. Distinguished experts from academia and industry, providing invaluable feedback and mentorship, reviewed projects. The expo spotlighted a variety of standout creations and amazing problem-solving projects. One such project was the Counter Drone System, a sophisticated real-time drone detection and tracking solution developed using ROS 2 Humble. This system employs a trained AI model to identify drones through camera input and automatically tracks them using motor controls governed by Arduino. The project reflects immense potential for application in security and surveillance sectors. Another innovation was a LoRa-based smart helmet for coal miners, equipped with sensors to monitor temperature, humidity, toxic gases, fire hazards, and workers’ vitals, along with an SOS button for emergencies providing a life-saving edge in hazardous environments. Adding to it was a breakthrough Posture Pal, an AI-assisted wearable that detects poor posture using motion sensors and delivers haptic alerts via vibrations. Compact and cost-effective, the device also logs real-time posture data through a connected mobile app, helping mitigate long-term spinal health issues. Declaring the expo open, Col. Dr. Rashmi Mittal, Pro-Chancellor of LPU, expressed immense pride in the students’ path-breaking innovations. Dr. Mittal encouraged every student to put forth their best, emphasizing, “Every project, big or small, reflects your passion and potential.” Citing the journey of Sri Vishnu, who secured a ₹2.5 crore global package, and successful student startups like Digantara and King Hills, Dr. Mittal accentuated how LPU promotes ideas that grow into impactful ventures. “Students are identifying real-world problems to executing creative solutions this is the essence of EduRevolution: empowering change-makers for society and the globe,” Dr. Mittal noted. Pro Vice-Chancellor of LPU, Dr.Lovi Raj Gupta guided students on refining their project outcomes through clearly defined problem statements, superior solutions, and compelling presentation skills key traits in today’s innovation-driven landscape. Innovation at Innotek was not limited to tech domains. Students from Fashion Design, Architecture, and Fine Arts displayed handmade, tech-integrated creations that beautifully blended aesthetic expression with practical utility. As part of the EduRevolution Initiative, students also engaged in entrepreneurial activities—transforming their innovations into revenue-generating ventures by selling their self-developed products, gaining firsthand experience in business viability and customer interaction. At LPU, innovation is more than a goal it is a journey supported from concept to prototype to potential startup. Through academic mentorship and strong industry engagement, the university ensures students are not only ready for the job market but also equipped to lead and shape the future.     A Symphony of Cultures Unfolded on Day Two of LPU’s One India & One World 2025

    Echoes of traditional beats, folk melodies, and joyous celebrations marked Day Two of Lovely Professional University’s (LPU) iconic cultural extravaganz One India & One World 2025. The ongoing three-day event, held at LPU’s Unipolis Auditorium, united  together over 40,000 students from across the university in a grand showcase of cultural richness, unity, and global harmony. Different schools of the university represented various Indian states and countries through their dedicated exhibition stalls. These stalls transcended mere displays, becoming immersive cultural experiences featuring regional emblems, traditional cuisine, handcrafted artifacts, spiritual icons, temples, women’s handicrafts, and symbolic animals. Students dressed in traditional attire some even embodying cultural deities showcased a vibrant array of festivals, rituals, songs, and dances. As part of LPU’s EduRevolution initiative, students also sold self-made regional souvenirs and products, promoting entrepreneurial spirit alongside cultural pride. Dr. Ashok Kumar Mittal, Member of Parliament (Rajya Sabha) and Founder Chancellor of LPU, Col. Dr. Rashmi Mittal, Pro-Chancellor of LPU, and Dr. Jaspal Singh Sandhu, Vice-Chancellor of LPU, toured the culturally rich stalls and were warmly welcomed by students through ceremonial performances representative of the regions and countries they portrayed. Dr. Ashok Kumar Mittal congratulated and encouraged all participants for their energy and innovation in curating such a magnificent global celebration. Dr. Mittal commended the LPU community for upholding the values of benevolence through diversity as reflected across the campus and urged students to always remain united in their pursuits, for the betterment of society, the nation, and the world. The main stage sustained the same vibrant energy, presenting a spectacular series of performances from musical renditions and folk songs to Indian classical and folk dances such as Bharatanatyam, Kathak, Kathakali, Kuchipudi, Odissi, Manipuri, Mohiniyattam, Sattriya, Bhangra, Giddha, Garba, and Ghoomar, as well as international showcases including African and Bhutanese dances.     LPU Leadership and Students Pay Tribute to Victims of Pahalgam Terror Attack

    In a poignant display of unity and compassion, Lovely Professional University (LPU) leadership, faculty, and students gathered to mourn and honour the victims of the recent terror attack in Baisaran, Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir. The somber event underscored the institution’s unwavering commitment to national solidarity and peace. Leading the tribute were Dr. Ashok Kumar Mittal, Hon’ble Member of Parliament (Rajya Sabha) and Founder Chancellor of LPU; Col. Dr. Rashmi Mittal, Pro-Chancellor of LPU; and Dr. Sanjay Modi, Pro Vice-Chancellor of LPU. Together with hundreds of students, staff, and faculty members, they participated in a solemn candlelight march across the university campus, holding the national flag and offering prayers for the departed souls. In his heartfelt address, Dr. Ashok Kumar Mittal condemned the barbaric attack and expressed his profound condolences to the bereaved families. “This was a shameful, inhuman act. The perpetrators must face the severest consequences of the law,” he said. “Such acts of terror not only bring immediate suffering but leave long-lasting scars on the soul of the region, especially in areas like Pahalgam where the economy is deeply intertwined with tourism.” Dr. Mittal further emphasized the importance of national unity in the face of adversity. “India will not be broken by fear.     International Global Conference Model United Nations 2025 hosted at LPU

    * IGC MUN 2.0 brought together young leaders, diplomats, and policy enthusiasts from across the world, including South Africa, Zimbabwe, Uganda, Ghana, Kenya, and Tanzania at LPU. The second edition of the International Global Conference – Model United Nations (IGC MUN 2.0), hosted by Lovely Professional University (LPU), brought together young leaders, diplomats, and policy enthusiasts from across the world, including South Africa, Zimbabwe, Uganda, Ghana, Kenya, and Tanzania. The three-day event served as an exceptional platform for intellectual exchange, offering participants the opportunity to engage in debates, strategic negotiations, and discussions on some of the most pressing global challenges of our time. The IGC MUN 2.0 featured five dynamic committees: The All India Political Parties Meet (AIPPM), the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA), the United Nations Security Council (UNSC), and the International Press. These committees effectively simulated real-world diplomatic processes, allowing delegates to take on the roles of world leaders and policymakers. The conference’s engaging and intensive deliberations enabled them to tackle critical global issues through negotiation and dialogue, mimicking the complexities of international diplomacy. During the event, participants explored a range of pertinent issues, such as the Waqf Amendment Bill, 2024, examining its potential benefits, challenges, and social implications. They also delved into the cyber-biological nexus, focusing on preventing the weaponization of emerging technologies in nuclear and biological systems. In addition, discussions centered around the weaponization of technologies like AI, drones, and cyber warfare in the context of global conflicts and international law. The conference culminated in a valedictory ceremony, celebrating the outstanding achievements of participants. Awards for excellence in debating, negotiation, and leadership were presented, with Kishan Mohan (LPU) winning Best Delegate (UNGA), Daniella Esther (LPU) winning Best Delegate (UNSC), Rakshit Pathak (Oriental University) receiving Best Delegate (AIPPM), and Swastika Shree (LPU) being awarded Best Delegate (IAEA). The participants were judged based on the insightful deliberations of the distinguished members of the Executive Board—Adv. Md. Shadique, Akshat Pratap Singh, Baljinder Singh, Sneha Rawat, Anjali Kadyan, Maanya, and Zishan Shaikh—each bringing their expertise in international affairs and diplomacy to the discussions. Col. Dr. Rashmi Mittal, Pro-Chancellor of LPU, congratulated all the participants, stating, “LPU actively supports such programs as they challenge students to step beyond their comfort zones, hone their communication abilities, and cultivate effective leadership and collaboration skills. Biotechnology Honours student, shared, “The most significant skill MUNs have instilled in me is an analytical mindset, which I apply in my everyday work.     15 Artists from Across India conducted National Wood & Bronze Sculpting Workshop at LPU Campus

    * The Department of Fine Arts at LPU, in collaboration with the Karnataka ShilpaKala Academy, organized a 15-day Traditional Wood & Bronze Sculpting Workshop. The hum of chisels and hammers filled the air as students’ visions came to life through the ancient techniques of wood and bronze sculpting. The National Traditional Wood & Bronze Camp, a prestigious initiative organized by the Lovely Professional University’s (LPU’s) Department of Fine Arts in collaboration with the Karnataka Shilpa Kala Academy, Bengaluru, became a vibrant celebration of India’s rich artistic heritage. Over the span of 15 days, fifteen renowned sculptors, fine arts students, and independent artists from across the country united to honor and preserve the timeless crafts of wood and bronze, creating an atmosphere of creativity and cultural pride. The workshop focused on the ancient methods of bronze and woodworking, offering a comprehensive educational experience that blended historical techniques with contemporary artistic expressions. Master artisans and scholars, known for their expertise in traditional sculpting, led interactive discussions, hands-on training sessions, and live demonstrations that allowed participants to immerse themselves in these timeless crafts. Under the expert guidance of seasoned artisans, students honed their skills in chiseling, carving, and lost-wax bronze casting, immersing themselves in the intricate techniques that bring sculptures to life. Instructors and attendees collaborated on every phase of the creative process, from initial carving to final casting. Emphasis was placed on the careful selection of materials, precise tool usage, and the art of finishing, allowing students to develop a deep understanding of traditional sculpting methods. Dr. Col. Rashmi Mittal, Pro-Chancellor of LPU, expressed deep appreciation for the event’s significance.
