BREAKING: New Report from Students for Life notes MORE THAN 50 TONS OF HUMAN TISSUE & REMAINS DUMPED EACH YEAR as a Result of Ab

“You don’t have to be pro-life to want clean drinking water,” said SFLA’s Kristan Hawkins. “Neglecting abortion water pollution to protect the Democrats’ favorite donors, Planned Parenthood & Chemical Abortion Pill pushers, represents a national crisis. In light of the more than 50 tons of human remains and tissue dumped in our waterways each year, we are calling on the Trump Administration to do the work that’s never been done: Test the Water, Go back to the Drawing Board, and Enforce the Comstock Act to stop the at-home dumping of human remains into our waterways nationwide. We’re allowing cemeteries in our sewers, a tragedy and a public health crisis all in one.” WASHINGTON D.C. (07-23-2025) – As agency officials at Health and Human Services (HHS) and the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) say that a review of Chemical Abortion Pill policy is underway, Students for Life of America (SFLA) President Kristan Hawkins called for an immediate response to a new report, indicating significant increases in Abortion Water Pollution as a result of Chemical Abortion Pill policy.  Hawkins observed, “Other than the abortion industry, can you name another business allowed to dump its waste, including pathological medical waste, into our waterways with the lazy assurance that if someone else can prove it’s a problem, they might stop. We are asking the Trump Administration to courageously go where no Democratic Party President has gone before – back to the drawing board for a real, scientific inquiry.” Since 2018, SFLA has been first in calling attention to the horrors of abortion water pollution, made possible by the No-Test, Online Distribution of Chemical Abortion Pills. SFLA’s Five Citizen Petitions to the FDA address the negligence of the policy, developed to make it easier for Chemical Abortion Pill pushers to sell their deadly “product.” LEARN MORE: Students for Life Action Calls on FDA Commissioner Nominee to Address the Weaponized Agency that Pushed Chemical Abortion Pills over Patient Safety – both Mother & Preborn Child “Students for Life will soon release a peer-reviewed study of what is in the water,” noted Hawkins. “But the question must be asked, why did we need to do it in the first place? Our federal government did not seek ‘Gold-Standard Science’ when they allowed human remains to be treated as garbage to be flushed away. When you consider that we’re told to not flush goldfish, flushing human beings can be seen as the horror it is. Hospitals and brick-and-mortar abortion vendors can’t dump their medical waste in this way. And yet, the No-Test, Online Distribution of Chemical Abortion Pills gives a de facto permission to abortion vendors to do what no other medical vendor can – dump chemically tainted blood, placenta tissue, and human remains into our waterways. This new data shows why so many state legislators, as well as members of Congress, are creatively addressing the horrors of Chemical Abortion Pills.”  THE REPORT: Abortion Water Pollution Measured in TONS BACKGROUND: When Chemical Abortion Pills were first brought on the market by President Clinton’s manipulation and pressure, the FDA accepted a 1996 Environmental Assessment from the Population Council, the group that stood to profit from the drugs. The way the pills were monitored and distributed was very different when it was first approved by the FDA in 2000, and the abortion profiteer asserted that the only real environmental issue to consider was littering of the packaging. Five times since then, as the health and safety standards were adjusted, the FDA has ignored its responsibility to prove that a change in policy does not hurt the environment. SFLA has raised those issues in our five Citizen Petitions to the FDA, pointing out the negligence of those fast-tracking Chemical Abortion Pills, but we’ve gone even further. Though the federal government SHOULD be doing water testing, we are doing it for them. A peer-reviewed study will be released later in 2025, as Students for Life has done the work that three Democratic Presidents failed to do. Our study of a few key cities will be the first of its kind, and the reason for that is clear when you understand more about the bulk of the chemically tainted blood, placenta tissue, and human remains flushed into our waterways.  THE MATH ON CHEMICALLY TAINTED PLACENTA + BABY REMAINS IN THE WATER EACH YEAR: DEATH MEASURED IN TONS Women are usually able to gain access to Chemical Abortion Pills up to 10 to 12 weeks into pregnancy, but we know the pills are sometimes used much later in pregnancy, putting our new reported number at the conservative end of estimates.   A baby at 12 weeks is approximately half an ounce in weight, up to 2.25 inches in length.  The placenta at this stage is around 2 ounces. Chemical abortionists advise women to be near a toilet when they have taken the pill and made the decision to end the baby’s life.  Unfortunately, 642,700 mothers made this choice in one year, according to Planned Parenthood in 2025.  That means (2.5 ounces x 642,700 =) an estimated 1,606,750 ounces of fetal remains were flushed into our drinking water. Converting ounces to tons, the total equals 50.21 tons of placenta tissue and human remains.  Think about that: The abortion industry’s favorite think tank says more than 50.21 TONS of placenta tissue and broken bodies are flushed into our waterways. For a point of comparison, the average car weighs 1.4 tons. But when it comes to the inhumane flushing of human beings, we would argue that 50+ tons is a conservative estimate, as babies are aborted later in pregnancy.  In addition, the number of Chemical Abortion Pill deaths is a LOW estimate when you look at other countries. While America lacks a national abortion reporting law, nations that do track Chemical Abortion Pill deaths say that 7 in 10 or 8 in 10 abortions are committed with the deadly drugs. In Finland, Sweden, and Norway, for example, more than 9 in 10 precious lives deliberately ended in the womb are destroyed with Chemical Abortion Pills.  SFLA’s estimate is that at least 8 in 10 abortions in the U.S. are likely committed with Chemical Abortion Pills. In 2024, the Planned Parenthood-founded Guttmacher Institute estimated that 1,048,710 abortions took place. If 80% of those were committed with pills, that would be more than 838,968 abortions, which would mean that a more accurate assessment of the tons of pathological medical waste in the water is more than 65.5 tons.  As SFLA/SFLAction have raised this obvious problem, so-called experts have tried to argue that it’s not a problem. Our response: you show us your study, we’ll show you ours. Our federal government has so far failed to conduct the required testing. In fact, the left-leaning PolitiFact tried to take us on to debunk our concerns and walked away with platitudes about abortion. In our response to PolitiFact’s article in 2023, Hawkins noted: “The lack of U.S. evidence that we flagged as a problem from day one of this project isn’t absolution; it’s the sign of failure by the FDA … While the article jumps wildly in its discussion from topic to topic, their basic finding was that Americans don’t need to worry about environmental harms because we have no U.S. tests to consult. So, let’s get that testing done. Lack of evidence is the problem, not the excuse for more government-sanctioned dumping of pathological medical waste.” For  interviews, email: media@studentsforlife.org ####      The Pro-Life Generation (PLG) is an umbrella organization encompassing the most-cutting edge engagement opportunities for a Vote Pro-Life First Community. Cover Ups & Controversies: New YouGov Survey Has Good News for Pro-Life Americans – if You Check the Math (& What is a Woman?)

YouGov Debunks long-standing exaggeration about the number of women who reportedly had an abortion. LESS THAN 1 in 10 women or LESS THAN 1 in 20 “Americans” reported having an abortion … depending, perhaps, on what is a woman? More than 1 in 5 Republicans believe abortion should be illegal – AN INCREASE. AFTER the “Big, Beautiful” Budget Bill was far along, MORE Americans said that the country was on the right track on abortion policy (Reminder, Planned Parenthood & Big Abortion misuse of healthcare spending ended when it was finalized just days after this survey!) Abortion Lobby Scare Tactics have influenced too many who express concern for mothers who may need life-saving medical care, mandated in all 50 states. Mainstream pollster YouGov released a late June survey of abortion-related questions, focusing on the views of people who express concern about pregnant mothers since the Dobbs decision ended Roe v. Wade. Their headline highlighted the feelings and impressions of Americans bombarded with massive media messaging on the repercussions of ending the long-term mistake that was Roe v. Wade. Too bad it didn’t come with a fact check.  The headline reads: 42% of Americans say the overturning of Roe v. Wade has increased deaths of pregnant women; 4% say deaths have decreased. Ironically, it’s impossible to verify the impressions left by media misinformation, as there is no National Abortion Reporting Law to track the fallout of millions of deaths by abortion accurately. We can’t even verify, thoroughly, the number of babies who have died, let alone what happened to their mothers.  Noting the terrible reality of bad data on abortion in the United States, Pew reports: “An exact answer (on the number of abortions) is hard to come by. The CDC and the Guttmacher Institute have each tried to measure this for around half a century, but they use different methods and publish different figures.”  That tragic confusion aside, there is a lot to unpack from YouGov, a polling firm that Students for Life of America (SFLA) worked with because of their professional analysis.  Read more at Students for Life’s Demetree Institute for Pro-Life Advancement. DEBUNKING ABORTION INDUSTRY CLAIMS The abortion industry consistently tries to inflate its importance and reach by insisting that many women have gotten abortions and by trying to confuse people on the differences between miscarriage and abortion. The abortion industry think tank and apologist, the Planned Parenthood-founded Guttmacher Institute, claims that 1 in 4 women (24.7%) will have an abortion. But YouGov reports: “5% of Americans say they have had an abortion. 17% say a family member has had an abortion, and 20% say a close friend has. 9% of women say they have had an abortion.” While we can’t tell you the difference between “What is a woman” and “What is an American,” we do know math. This indicates that only 1 in 20 women or fewer than 1 in 10 have had an abortion, far fewer than 1 in 4.  A PARTISAN DIVIDE ON ABORTION MEANS THE GOP NEEDS TO GO BIG ON LIFE YouGov finds that more than 1 in 5 Republicans believe abortion should be illegal … AN INCREASE. YouGov: The share of Americans who believe abortion should always be legal and there should be no restrictions on it has increased since August 2024, to 32% from 27%. Among Democrats, 59% believe abortion should always be legal, up from 48% last August. The share of Independents who say abortion should always be legal has increased to 33% from 22%. (Other YouGov polling has found that over a longer time period, views on this question have been mostly stable.) The share of Republicans who believe abortion should be illegal and should never be allowed has risen since last August, to 22% from 13%. MOST AMERICANS WANT LIMITS ON ABORTION – AND NOT WHAT THE DEMOCRATS ARE SELLING We note that 68% of all Adults want NO abortion or limited abortion, but Democrats LOVE abortion the most, as 59% want abortion without limits. Only 6% of Republicans want unlimited abortion, which means 94% want LESS. In fact, 22 % want NO abortion, while 46% wanted very limited abortion. AS THE GOP WAS WORKING TO DEFUND PLANNED PARENTHOOD & ALL ABORTION VENDORS, THOSE SURVEYED SAID WE ARE ON THE RIGHT TRACK This poll took place as President Trump’s “Big, Beautiful” Budget Bill was in the home stretch. MORE Americans say “the country generally is headed in the RIGHT direction on the issue of abortion – now at 29% in June 2025 from 22% in August 2024.  Let’s be clear: the policy changes in this time frame have primarily been in the pro-life direction. And while a good number believe that abortion policy is “off on the wrong track,” that number includes many pro-life Americans who grieve the millions of lives still lost to intentional abortion. MEDIA MISINFORMATION HAS HAD AN IMPACT, CAUSING CONCERNS ABOUT AMERICAN MEDICAL CARE While this report does not include any data on what is happening to pregnant mothers in America, it conveys concern. YouGov reports, “Americans who believe that the Supreme Court’s ruling on abortion increased the number of pregnant women who have died has gone up, from 37% to 42%. Only 4% say the number has decreased … 35% of Americans believe the number of women abused by their partners has increased in the past couple of years as a result of the decision; only 2% think the number has decreased. 47% believe the number of pregnant women denied care during a medical emergency has increased; only 7% say it has decreased.” The report also addresses other similar concerns.  Headlines certainly add to anxiety. Consider a few samples:   NBC: With abortion on 10 state ballots, reports of deadly consequences of bans emerge before election Ms. Magazine: Rest in Power: A Running List of the Preventable Deaths Caused by Abortion Bans PBS: More pregnant women face life-threatening sepsis in wake of strict abortion laws The issue isn’t whether the abortion industry uses fear tactics to get support for their ugly, deadly business. The issue is whether the fears are valid.  We’ve written volumes on this, and all 50 states have laws to protect pregnant mothers’ lives, but here are a few things to read. SFLA: Abortion for Life of the Mother Cases SFLA: Today on Explicitly Pro-Life: Abortions Are NEVER Medically Necessary ON WHAT MOTIVATES PEOPLE ON ABORTION SUPPORT OR OPPOSITION The results are a bit muddy here. Without follow-ups or alternative options for motivation, we are left with differing views on the two at the center of every abortion. It’s a women-versus-babies kind of argument laid out in this survey. For those who SUPPORT abortion, “62% say the primary motivation of people who support the constitutional right to abortion is to protect women’s lives.” While for those who OPPOSE abortion, “35% of Americans believe that the primary motivation of people who oppose the constitutional right to abortion is to protect children’s lives.”  BOTTOM LINE As we saw in the last election, abortion was NOT a winning issue. And most Americans don’t want what Planned Parenthood and their friends in the Democratic Party are selling. From methodology: This article includes results from an online survey conducted June 24 – 26, 2025, among 1,016 U.S. adult citizens. Respondents were selected from YouGov’s opt-in panel to be representative of adult U.S. citizens. The sample was weighted according to gender, age, race, education, 2024 presidential vote, 2020 election turnout and presidential vote, baseline party identification, and current voter registration status. 2024 presidential vote, at time of weighting, was estimated to be 48% Harris and 50% Trump. Demographic weighting targets come from the 2019 American Community Survey. Baseline party identification is the respondent’s most recent answer given around November 8, 2024, and is weighted to the estimated distribution at that time (31% Democratic, 32% Republican). The margin of error for the overall sample is approximately 4%. SEE YOU AT SCOTUS: Federal Judge Halts Planned Parenthood & Abortion Vendor Defunding, Legislates from the Bench

Judicial Insurrection Continues as Activist Federal Judge Forcibly Halts Defunding Planned Parenthood & All Abortion Vendors, Legislating from the Bench “Today’s decision out of Boston, in which a single judge decided to put her weight on the legal scales, to reject the balance of powers laid out in the Constitution, explains why so many believe the Left is out of control. Congress has the right to pass laws and the President the responsibility to lead. But instead, we are witnessing a judicial insurrection,” said Students for Life’s Kristan Hawkins. “Our team protested this kind of unbalanced activism on Friday, as the case was argued. Our message remains the same: We stand in support of President Trump and Congress as they fight for common-sense budget cuts and push back against an imperial judiciary. Keep fighting! And Congress should also look at impeaching judges who abuse their authority to force their personal views.” WASHINGTON D.C. (07-21-2025) – Given the unsurprising news that District Judge Indira Talwani believes that she should be able to overwrite Congress, in the case Planned Parenthood Federation of America Inc et al v Kennedy et al, No. 25-11913, Students for Life of America (SFLA) President Kristan Hawkins called it “judicial tyranny” for a single judge to demand that the conscience rights and finances of ordinary Americans be abused to prop up the discredited abortion vendor, Planned Parenthood. The abortion mega-provider argues Congress cannot cut them and all abortion vendors out of taxpayer-funded healthcare. On Friday, as the case was argued, SFLA team members and volunteers engaged in protest at the Supreme Court, where the case likely ends up.  At that time, Hawkins said: “The hypocrisy of the activist left’s ‘No Kings’ protests isn’t lost on us because it’s clear that they don’t really mean it. They just want an ‘imperial judiciary’ to rule rather than hearing from duly elected leaders. We must stop letting judges usurp the will of the people. It’s time to talk about impeaching judges,” said Hawkins, adding that abortion vendor claims patients would lose good service represents “a joke on the American taxpayer.” She continued: “Not even the New York Times thinks Planned Parenthood is good at their self-appointed job. Planned Parenthood has fewer than 600 locations compared to more than 19,000 alternatives through Federally Qualified Health Centers and look-alikes. The difference between the two is full-service care. One offers healthcare to all, planning for all patients to survive their visit. One offers death by intentional abortion, first and foremost. Never forget that Planned Parenthood could keep all the federal money if they gave up committing abortions.” LEARN MORE ABOUT THE LARGE NUMBER OF ALTERNATIVES TO PLANNED PARENTHOOD HERE: If You Can Get Starbucks & a Big Mac, You Can Get The Pill Students for Life Action (SFLAction) fought for defunding abortion vendors throughout the budget process. So Long, Stephen Colbert: Abortion ‘Greatest Hits’ Don’t Amount to Comedy—They Equal Cruelty

Instead of being a great comedian, Stephen Colbert descended into woke madness, turning a legendary late-night show into a cringeworthy attempt to take a swipe at anyone who opposed his beliefs- including pro-lifers.    With a “heavy” heart, on May 26th, 2026, we will finally get to say goodbye to Colbert’s floundering show after record low ratings, and we can tell you why. Turns out, praising abortion ad nauseum isn’t worth a single chuckle and doesn’t make anyone immune to a television show cancellation, no matter how mainstream it is.    Without further ado, let’s take a trip down memory lane and visit some of Colbert’s worst abortion monologue flops.    Men Can Be Against Abortion, Too   While Roe v. Wade was still the law of the land, Colbert was already on a tear. This time, against men for daring to have a say about abortion and protecting Life.  Colbert will claim to be a proud Catholic, but will throw his Church and faith under the bus for a cheap, secular laugh. Or at least what he would define as one.   When 25 Republican lawmakers from Alabama created a pro-life law that would take effect when Roe was reversed, Colbert suggested that it was a real-life attempt at The Handmaid’s Tale.    The real tragic tale is telling women that abortion is empowering and their only option, but if they did choose Life, they would ruin their lives.    Roe v. Wade’s Reversal Leads to “Medieval Times”   After Roe v. Wade’s reversal in June 2022, Colbert acted dismayed about the reversal instead of being relieved that pro-life states can fight for preborn lives. He likened it to “medieval times,” as he disregarded the rights preborn children have for the rights of people to kill their children. He was met with mediocre laughter. Not quite the response he was hoping for, I’m sure. Colbert Relieved that Kansas Voted to Keep Killing Preborn Kids   Colbert basked in the thunderous applause of his TV audience for announcing that Kansas “barely” held on to its “right” to kill preborn kids. As if that wasn’t ghoulish enough, he joked that the new state bird would be replaced by giving the bird to Justice Samuel Alito, who already has a satanist abortion facility named after his mom.    Class act, right?    Chemical Abortion Pills Access for Everyone   The ongoing case of a Texas judge prohibiting Mifepristone, the first of the two-drug Chemical Abortion Pill regime, encouraged Colbert to criticize this brave attempt at saving preborn children and their mothers and claim that the Food & Drug Administration (FDA) is the ultimate authority.    If we’ve learned anything, even in the last few months, it is that the Biden administration’s FDA had no problem rubberstamping Chemical Abortion Pills, failing to conduct regular safety studies, and turning a blind eye to pro-lifers’ pleas for better science.    Look at this recent study, Ethics and Public Policy Center (EPPC), titled “The Abortion Pill Harms Women,” which found the effects far worse than the FDA admits.  Two new truths are now available to address old lies. Most importantly, we now know this: “Serious adverse events from mifepristone are approximately 22 times more frequent” than the FDA reports, which means that more than 1 in 10 patients will “experience at least one serious adverse event.”   I wonder if Colbert would stand by Chemical Abortion Pills if he took the time to read this.    Old Laws Don’t Mean They’re Bad Laws   Mainstream media outlets such as The Guardian praised Colbert’s monologue attacking Arizona’s 160-year-old pro-life law as antiquated.    “The law is so old, in fact, that it predates the invention of the cowboy hat, the urinal, the paper clip, the machine that makes paper bags, and Arizona as a state. “You can’t enforce state laws from before it was a state!” said Colbert. “If you could, people in Massachusetts could be arrested for failure to buckle hat.”   Much like the Comstock Act, just because a law is old doesn’t mean that it’s bad. Sometimes the oldest ideas or statements, like in Psalm 139, a Scripture that’s thousands of years old:   “For you created my inmost being;   you knit me together in my mother’s womb.    I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made;   your works are wonderful,   I know that full well.   My frame was not hidden from you   when I was made in the secret place,   when I was woven together in the depths of the earth.”   While we’re sure abortion isn’t the sole reason is show going down the toilet, his shift to woke ideology includes the abortion extremism narrative, which is a far cry from the “safe, legal, and rare” argument touted up until recently.    So, farewell to Colbert. When you’re ready to be funny again, let us know- maybe now is the time to check in at Confession. TEXAS SPECIAL SESSION AIMS TO END CHEMICAL ABORTION

Students for Life Action Praises Governor Greg Abbott’s Special Session Announcement to Protect Preborn Children; Calls on Texas State House & Senate to End Chemical Abortion Pill Pushing SFLAction-inspired “Anti-Chemical Abortion Pill Trafficking Act” to get a second chance, as a number of new measures advance “We’re thankful that Governor Abbott prioritized legislation protecting preborn babies in his call for a special session. Now, the Texas State House and Senate need to finish the work on the ‘Anti-Chemical Abortion Pill Trafficking Bill,’ which has a new lease on LIFE,” said Students for Life Action President Kristan Hawkins. “Chemical Abortion Pill Pushers willfully break state laws to make a profit, exposing pregnant mother to injury, infertility, and death, empowering abusers, and risking the environment with abortion water pollution. Virtual Chemical Abortion Pill cartels need to be stopped.” For interviews, contact media@studentsforlife.org. AUSTIN, TEXAS (07-17-2025) –  Students for Life Action (SFLAction) President Kristan Hawkins praised Texas Governor Greg Abbott for calling a special session beginning Monday, July 21st, to address the crisis facing his state following the devastating floods, but to also specifically protect preborn Texans and their mothers from the abortion industry. Since June 16th, SFLAction has called for a special session to end the threat of Chemical Abortion Pill trafficking in Texas by finishing the work of the general session on SB 2880, the Women and Child Protection Act. The bill confronts Online, No-Test Chemical Abortion Pill traffickers, flooding Texas communities with these dangerous pills and acting illegally. It also allows civil action to be taken by those harmed by deadly Chemical Abortion Pills. A number of new bills have been introduced to address a virtual Chemical Abortion Pill drug cartel, inspired in part by SFLAction’s engagement. During the General Session, the Women and Child Protection Act passed the Texas State Senate but was stalled in the Texas House State Affairs Committee when, after an 8 to 5 vote in favor of the bill, Rep. Ken King did not send it to the floor for a vote in time. “Our call to the legislature is simple: bring the Women and Child Protection Act up for a vote,” said Hawkins. “It’s time to protect Life as an investment in Texas’ future, and we must make sure that women are protected from Chemical Abortion Pill traffickers.”   SFLAction has been very engaged in supporting the measure. Over more than 17 years, PLG CEO Kristan Hawkins has grown the operation into a nearly $20M organization, now preparing for an abortion-free America.    The post Texas Flood Victims Receive Gifts, Support from The Pro-Life Generation appeared first on Students for Life of America.
